Tutorial: Nina Dobrev Emmy-Inspired Makeup Look

Hey everyone! Today’s tutorial is how to achieve Nina Dobrev’s makeup look from the Emmy’s! I primarily used the Urban Decay Naked Palette for this tutorial! Hope you enjoy and comment below if you have any questions J

To get Nina’s look:
-Apply UD Primer Potion all over your lid (including your lower lash line)
-Apply UD Hustle on base of your eye to just above your crease
-Apply UD Gunmetal lightly to base, and then focus it in your crease
-Apply UD Creep heavily to your lash line, smudge a bit toward your crease (gives it the effortless look), and focus it in the outer corner of your eye (gives it the dramatic look)
-Apply a black pencil liner to your bottom lash line (I recommend M.A.C. Eye Kohl in Smolder)
-Apply false lashes to your top lash line (I recommend M.A.C. 4 Lash false lashes)
-Apply a black liquid liner to your top lash line over your false lashes (I recommend M.A.C. Liquidlast Liner. **Tip: applying a liner over false lashes helps to make them look natural and blend in with your look!)
-Apply UD Creep on bottom lash line (gives it the dramatic look)
-Finish with a black mascara over false lashes and lower lashes (I recommend LashBlast Volume Blasting Mascara from Covergirl in Very Black)

And viola! That is the complete Nina Dobrev Emmy look :) I hope you have a wonderful week and if you try this look out, be sure to leave a link to a picture of your recreated look below! xoxo!!

Update: Where Have I Been?

Hey everyone! Good and bad news, but first- I'M SORRY!!!!!!! I feel so bad for not posting a lot lately!

So for the bad news: I had an intense episode of vertigo (I've thankfully gotten over it), but my work load has skyrocketed! I am limited to how much I can post on my blog :( I had a makeup tutorial filmed to put on youtube and then my laptop crashed for the THIRD time! Such a stressful week!

For the good news: I got a promotion at work!! Woohoo haha but for the really good news- I have created some makeup tutorials and I'm going to be posting them all VERY, VERY soon :) They are fall-inspired looks, but if you want to see some other tutorials, just request them!

I hope you guys had a fabulous week and here's a little sneek peek of my upcoming tutorials:

Sick as a Dog + Current Obsession

Hey everyone! So, I've been feeling really sick the past few days. I just wanted to do a short blog to explain why I've been completely MIA the past few days. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow and hopefully I'll be all better by next week :) I've got a lot of work to do the next few days, as well as prepping for school, so I won't be posting as much anymore :( Just keep reading for more updates!

Also, I decided to start posting at the end of each blog post what I'm currently-at-that-very-moment obsessed with. It may be food, it might be movies, music, people, basically anything! It's just so you guys can learn more about my personal interests :) Like the idea? Let me know in the comments below!

CURRENT OBSESSION: green tea - amazing when you're sick :) here's my favorite kind:

Intervention Update + VEGAS!

Hey everyone! So quick update for you guys and some fun news to share :)

First- shopping intervention update! Have I bought anything? NO! I have been totally dedicated to not buying anything! It's been hard these first 2 days, but I'm getting through this (I think Hadley is having more trouble than I am lol :P). I hope you all are staying strong and not giving in to those sales people!!

Next- VEGAS! My friend called me last night and said she wanted to go to Vegas, so I thought she was planning a trip for like next week or something. Yeah, I was wrong about that. She decided to do a Vegas road trip and we're leaving soon... as in we're leaving today. Kind of crazy to plan something the night before, but I can't wait! She is bringing her boyfriend and I'm bringing Bentley, plus one other couple is meeting us in Vegas. It's actually funny the way things worked out because Bentley is great friends with her boyfriend and I'm great friends with why not join together for a Vegas road trip? I'll be back late Sunday night or early Monday morning, so I won't be able to post all weekend. And no, don't worry, I won't be drinking (I'm only 20, 1 more year)! Bentley just turned 21 and so did my friend's boyfriend, but both of us girls are still 20. Should be interesting...

Anyway, I hope you have a fabulous weekend and leave any requests down below!

Join me for a Shopping Intervention!

Hey everyone! I have to do this post really quickly, but I wanted to let you know why you might not see a lot of hauls coming up.

So basically, Hadley convinced me to go on this thing called a shopping ban. You've probably heard of it and yes, it is as bad as it sounds! It means that we can't buy anything related to makeup or fashion for... wait for it... 2 weeks! We're trying to really commit to this because over the past few months, our hauls and shopping habits have been insane! It's a legit shopping intervention (that is very needed).

I thought it would be fun to share this with you guys and I want every single one of you to join me! It's a lot easier to commit to something when you have people supporting you all around :) To join me in my Shopping Intervention, do not buy anything fashion or makeup related for 2 weeks. Skincare products (such as face wash, face lotion, etc.) are excluded from the ban because without any lotion, my face would actually hurt. So if you run out of your face wash or something like that, don't freak out - those are completely excluded from the ban!

This may be easier for some of you than you expected, but it may also be a lot tougher! I'm so excited to see how all of us do! Please pass this around on your blogs, facebook pages, twitters, youtube, etc! I want EVERYONE to join :) Post your updates below in the comments section or share them with me via twitter, facebook, youtube, or email!

I hope you'll join Hadley and me for a Shopping Intervention! To find out all of the details about this intervention, click on the shopping intervention page at the top of my blog! It will explain everything you need to get started and I'll be posting any updates I have right on the page!

Have a wonderful week everyone and get started on the intervention TODAY!

OOTD + Sorority Sisters + Show Your Hearts

Hey everyone! I'm just doing a quick OOTD and a little Sorority Sisters update today!! I'll also be talking a little about the Show Your Hearts campaign!

Today I have a few meetings at work, so I have to dress more formal than usual. Even though I have to be formal, I still wanted it to be fun... so check out the shoes (they're kind of unbelievable)! I've included multiple views of the shoes because they really are unique in their design!

Dress: Anthropologie - $268

Shoes: Anthropologie - $298

I love the modern heel on these shoes! It takes a simple, formal dress to a chic, cutting-edge look :) Plus, they also come in brown, so if black isn't your thing, don't worry! Let me know if you like this unique style in the comments below!

Makeup for this look was super simple! I just used some lipstick from MAC in Malt, which was mentioned in my 11 Most Reached for Items post (Click here to read my 11 Most Reached for Items post!). As a base color, I used my Bobbi Brown eyeshadow in Bone (also in that post) and added some neutral glitter using colors from my Too Faced Natural Eye Palette! Then I applied some blush from MAC's Surf, Baby collection (Click here to see MAC's Surf, Baby! Blush). For a bit of pop, I used MAC's Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Blue Noon (Click here to see MAC's Blue Noon eyeliner). I didn't wear any foundation because frankly, I was too lazy. And I just barely applied concealer under my eyes. Why not try and recreate this look as leave the link to your look in the comments below? (You don't have to use the exact same products either, just use the same colors!)

Now for the Sorority Sisters part of this post! Wanna start reading some cool tips on fashion essentials for college? Well, I knew you would and that's exactly what my first post for Sorority Sisters is about! Here's the link so you can read all about fashion essentials :)

Click here to read my Sorority Sisters post!

I also really quickly wanted to bring your attention to a devastating accident that occured. The Berry family, from Texas, suffered a huge tragedy and I'm asking for your help to bring awareness to this issue! Both parents were killed and both sons are now paralyzed from the waist down. I ask you switch out your profile pictures to help support this cause, as many celebrities have done- Lady Gaga, Ellen DeGeneres, etc! Please, please, please donate if you can :) It's so simple to donate- just text BERRY to 85944, and you will be asked to confirm your $10 donation. I've already donated and I hope you will too!

Click here to visit the Show Your Hearts website!

I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week! And hey- it's almost Friday! (If you're in a different country where it already is Friday, well... happy Friday!)

Sorority Sisters Launch!

Hey everyone! I have amazing news to share with you guys! Many of you who follow me on twitter, facebook, etc... know that I've been saying I have a special announcement that would come this week. Well, here it is! Recently, Taylor from youtube (CollegeGlamoration) posted a video talking about an upcoming idea she had to create a virtual sorority. She asked for anyone who wanted to blog or do videos for the Sorority Sisters group, so of course, I knew I had to!

So let me slow down and explain what Sorority Sisters is. It's a virtual sorority that is basically a group of 40 bloggers and vloggers dedicated to giving college advice, tips, and general college information. When I applied to Sorority Sisters, I had to answer basic questions and decide if I wanted to blog, vlog, or do both. I decided to just help with the blogging part of Sorority Sisters! Since I'm not involved with the youtubers, I can't really say what their schedule for posting is exactly, so I'll just be explaining the blog part of it to you guys!

I am a weekly blogger, but some girls are only posting monthly. I will always be posting on Mondays (which means when Monday comes, you should check out my post :D)! The things I write about are mainly fashion, makeup, beauty, and then little random things- like designing your dorm. Other girls are focused on totally different topics- finances, safety, etc. So it really is a complete guide to college, but also a type of advice column!

The girls in Sorority Sisters are either juniors/seniors in high school or in college. They are a great group of girls and let me tell you, I've read some of their posts that aren't published yet, and you will definitely want to read them!

If you want to know more about the girls I'm working with, just visit the Meet the Sisters page:

Here is the Sorority Sisters blog where we will post daily:

Here is the Sorority Sisters youtube where videos will be posted daily:

Here is the Sorority Sisters facebook page:

With this blog, I have created a second twitter:

I have also created a second email:

I hope everyone enjoys the blog and youtube! Let me know what you think too! The first blog post will be posted Monday, so that is the official launch of Sorority Sisters! My post is going to be about the top 10 items of clothing you should bring to college! I started off with a fashion post and will most likely do a makeup post next week! If you have any requests for me to post on the Sorority Sisters blog, feel free to request away! Hope you like our blog and youtube!!

Hey everyone! I just want to start by saying thank you for following me here! When I started this blog, I had no idea if anyone would support me, but every single one of you has made this expierence all worth it :)

Anyway, you may have noticed a little update on the right column. I have added my facebook, twitter, youtube, and formspring (yes formspring, I'll explain in a second), so that you can easily follow me AND so I don't have to post all that information at the end of every single post :)

Okay so now to the formspring news! I decided to create a formspring page because if you follow me on facebook or twitter, you know I was going to do a questions tag. Well, I decided that instead of sitting down and typing out answers to all these questions I was sent, I could have an ongoing place to answer things and VOILA...I created a formspring! I hope you all ask me anything you've wanted to know :) It doesn't have to be about me either- it can be about makeup, fashion, beauty, life, food, basically anything you can think of!

So anyway, here's my formspring!

Enjoy! Oh and before I go, I have gotten a lot of requests for not only my new youtube channel (which you can find in the right side column, as well), but also to do lots of blog posts. So basically, I'm gonna be a little busy trying to get everything finished, but I will work as fast as I can to answer all your requests!
Thanks for supporting me :)

And The Winner Is... (+ Youtube Announcement)

Hey everyone! So it's the 15th :) I know everyone is anxious to hear who won the $420 makeup give away and yes, I have selected the winner at random. Before I say who won, I want to make a little announcement.

I am going to start making youtube videos! HOWEVER, I'm not going to be talking in them like most gurus. I don't really want to put my face/voice/whatever all over the internet (I'm a little scared about that, lol). I am simply going to be doing tutorials. So, when I upload my first video, you'll see exactly what I mean :) So everyone right now, go and subscribe to my channel!
I would love you guys to subcribe and spread the word about my channel- it would mean so much to me!!

So now that I've told you all my little announcement, it's time to announce the winner of the $420 huge give away! Of course, because I just told you about my new youtube account, I had to announce the winner in the form of a video! So just click play on the video below and you'll find out who won! Again, thanks to everyone who entered!! I had so much fun reading all your emails, tweets, facebook posts, and comments! I will probably do another give away in the future (**hint hint: subscribe to my youtube channel). Again, thanks to every single one of you! I can't express my thanks enough :)

Update: Your Comments + 3 More Days

Hey everyone! So first off, I had such a great time in North Carolina! It was a lot of work, but it was all worth it :) I'm back now and trying to catch up on everything, which has been very overwhelming! Anyway, I wanted to do a quick update about some things going on this week and the next few weeks.

The first thing I want to talk about is comments on my blog posts. I read EVERY SINGLE comment and I love reading them! However, as my blog has expanded, I am not able to respond to all of them as I used to be able to :( However, as I said, I do read all of them, so if you have a question or request, still go ahead and ask about it because I will respond to those types of comments! I seriously appreciate you guys and your comments, so don't think otherwise!

Next thing I wanted to mention is that there are only 3 DAYS LEFT until I chose the winner for the $420 makeup give away!! I have been getting so many emails from you guys and I really appreiciate you entering! Some emails have made me want to cry because they're so inspirational, while others have literally made me fall to the floor because they were so funny!! I can't wait to chose the winner :D

And finally... last, but not least: I want to talk about my blog :) I want to get your opinion on the layout of it all. I'm thinking of maybe giving the blog a little redesign (nothing too major), so I want to get your feedback! If you want me to add anything (example: a new searchbar, a new gadget, etc...) or maybe move something around, just leave a comment below, tweet me, email me, or post it on my facebook wall! I would love to hear what different things you want me to add or remove!

Anyway, I have to go to work now, but I hope everyone has a wonderful week! And remember... only THREE more days until the winner is chosen!!

Update: OOTD + Boyfriend

Hey everyone! Today, I'm just doing an OOTD and giving some updates. I've actually started packing for my trip, so I'm in the middle of that and I'm going out to lunch later today, so I have like no time. AHHH :/ Anyway, this is what I'm wearing today- to work and lunch. And before I forget: thank you so much for all of your requests! I know I've been falling behind on getting them posted, but trust me- I'm working as fast as I can to get everything done! Thank you so much for your support everyone!

So, here's my OOTD (NOTE: I give full credit to the original sources of these pictures. I do not in any way, shape, or form take credit for these pictures!):

Dress: - $35

Shoes: TOMS Shoes - $58

Ring: House of Harlow 1960 - $50

I love this outfit because it's so comfortable! The dress is one I ordered from Lulu's and it's super inexpensive, which is always a plus! At first, I was going to wear wedges with it, but then decided to go a bit more casual as I'm doing tons of walking today! So, I paired my TOMS with it. I love this pair of TOMS especially because it's a bit more dressed up with the crochet detail, but still remains true to the TOMS orginal design. To add a bit of style, I added a simple ring from Nicole Richie's line (which btw, I LOVE!!!). For makeup, just a simple NARS Orgasm blush on the cheek. Plus a little Benefit Hoola Bronzer to contour. On my lips, I used my MAC Surf, Baby! Lipstick in Naturally Eccentric. As you can see, today was not a very exciting makeup day :( However, when I go to North Carolina, I'll be doing more interesting looks and will definitely post them!

So, to get to my summer stuff... Today, I'm meeting with Bentley for lunch. Did I mention he's my new boyfriend? I try to keep my personal life pretty protected, but with all of the support you guys have offered me, I feel like I should tell you how much that means! We've been dating for a bit and since I work with him, we always hang out. He's so sweet and is halarious!! Like, no joke- he can make me laugh at any given second of the day! If you want to know more about him, I can do a boyfriend tag later on. Anyway, he's coming to North Carolina with me, so I'm like even more excited for my trip :) I, again, want to thank each and every one of you for your support! The winner of the give away will be announced on July 15th. Thanks for entering and remember: invite everyone you know to enter!

Update: Huge Give Away!

Hey everyone! If you follow me on twitter or on facebook, you already know the news I'm about to share. So, I got a call last night from my boss telling me about this meeting that is happening in North Carolina. After telling me a lot about it, he asked me to also attend. The only bad part about this is that the day I was supposed to pick a winner is July 10th. On July 10th, I'll be on a plane (a long plane ride may I add, from North Carolina to Los Angeles...). Anyway, it would be very difficult for me to chose a winner not being on land, so I have decided to move the day I chose a winner to a later date. Instead of July 10th, I WILL CHOSE A GIVE AWAY WINNER ON JULY 15TH. It's only 5 days, so I hope everyone can just wait a little bit longer!

I seriously appreciate each and every one of you! I wish I could give every single one of you all of the makeup!

UPDATE FOR ENTERING: So I have decided to do a little referral thing. For every person you refer to this blog, you get entered an extra time. You must have them say somewhere- either via twitter, facebook, email, or here on the blog- that you referred them to my blog. If they say that, they will also be entered an extra time. It's a win-win situation! GET EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO ENTER BECAUSE IT WILL INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING! I hope everyone likes this addition! Let me know what you think!

If you have any requests for blog posts, please feel free to request them!

Haul with Hadley!

Hey everyone! So, I made a list of all of your requests :) For now, I'm just doing a simple haul post! I went shopping this week with my sister, Hadley, and well... take a look at how it went!

-- Alexia Admor Sequin Shift Dress [$298] I thought this was so cute and had to get it! It's a gorgeous color and the sequins are amazing :)

-- KORS Michael Kors Salinas Bootie [$112] This geometric design immediately caught my eye! I tried them on and fell in more love with them. I had trouble deciding between the black and the brown, but eventually just went with the black- my sister's suggestion.
-- LUSH Chai Spicy Shower Gel [$26.95] I LOVE Chai Tea, so when I saw this, I knew it was a match made in heaven! I haven't used it yet, but I cannot wait to try it out :)

-- Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder [$30] I just saw this and decided why not give it a try? I was in need of a finishing powder anyway, so I hope this one works!

-- La Mer Moisturizing Cream [$135] Yes, I know this is expensive! However, I've read amazing reviews on this and my best friend, Leighton, swears by it! Plus, it lasts a long time :)

So, that's the end of my haul! Let me know if you guys want to see what Hadley bought! If you have any requests, just ask me!

Update: Hunter

Hey everyone! I know earlier I was so excited to announce my give away, but now my attention is kinda switched. As you all know, Hunter and I went to Hawaii together and for the most part, had a great time. However, we did have one sorta big fight. We got over it though and everything was normal.

Hunter's mom (who I am very close to) insisted I come to their beach home in the Bahamas. Hunter and I were going to stay in the guest house and it was all planned out. Unfortunately, I couldn't go because my sister was coming to stay with me in LA for a little while. Hunter's mom totally understood, but Hunter seemed really upset. Apparently he felt I wasn't spending time with him, and I only spent time with my family- not his. After trying to reason with him, I finally gave in and said I'd go to the Bahamas with him. The worst part of this was having to tell my sister she couldn't come to LA and stay with me. Hunter was so happy, as was his family. Something, though, felt wrong and yup you probably guessed it- Hunter and I started arguing again!

After having a weird past few days, he called me and told me he was no longer willing to be second in my life or something like that. And then proceeded to uninvite me to the Bahamas. He said we were officially over and hung up. I will admit I cried! I mean, what girl wouldn't?

To make everything even better, I heard he already invited another girl to the Bahamas. It's been like 1 day since the break up! Who does that??

To conclude, I am now officially single and I'm looking forward to finding a guy who appreciates me AND my family!

I hope I didn't ramble too much! And I just wanted to let everyone know Hunter and I broke up because, believe it or not, people email me asking how he and I are doing. I really don't want those emails any more :/

Anyway, I hope your day was way better than mine and the give way rules will be posted soon!

Follow me on Facebook too!

Hey everyone! So I'm going to do a give away very very soon! It's open INTERNATIONALLY and it will be HUGE! I'm so excited to give back to those of you who support me :) I'll post everything you need to know, including rules and the actual give away items, probably tomorrow!

For now, be sure you have clicked the follow button, so you're eligible to win! Everyone is welcome to enter and to chose the winner, I'll be using !

Honolulu, Hawaii!

Hey everyone! I just got back from Hawaii and wanted to share some pics from my vacation! Sorry there are none of me, but I was always pictured with Hunter and he asked not to be posted on a public blog. :/

Anyway, we stayed in a wonderful beachfront home, but spent one night at a resort (mostly so we could see a luau). I hope to use some of these pictures as inspiration for upcoming beach-inspired makeup tutorials!

We went to beaches all over!

I hope everyone enjoyed this little post about my trip! I'm exhausted and will probably not do another post today. So, if you have made a request (I'm sorry to everyone who has asked for a beachy makeup tutorial - I'm working on it, I promise!), I will get to that hopefully by the end of this week! Thank you to everyone who reads my blog! <3

- Yes, I model a lot and I also help my friend, who is a makeup artist, when she has events and things. I have a normal 9-6 job though, that involves a bunch of law (I hope to be a lawyer soon!!)
What's the first thing you look for in a person?

- A sense of humor! I'm extremely sarcastic and I hate when people take that stuff to heart. Lighten Up :)
Who's the first person you turn to when you're upset?

- Yesterday, I would have said my boyfriend Hunter, but today I would say one of my best friends named Landon. He's always there for me and he just gets me.
What's your favorite food?

- Any type of seafood!
Favorite place to go?
- I love to go skiing in Whistler in Vancouver, Canada. I've been going to British Columbia since I was 2!

That's the end of my TAG post! If you want me to answer anymore questions, post them below, ask me on Facebook, or e-mail them to me at! I hope you all have a great day!

TmaraCo becomes GirlFromAztecLane

Hey everyone! So, one of the beauty gurus in my March Favorite beauty gurus post has changed youtube names! She used to go by TmaraCo, but now is GirlFromAztecLane! Someone logged into her account and tried to access her personal information, so she just completely changed her YouTube name. She just got her new ombre hair, got a new apartment, and now a new YouTube username, so I really believe things happen for a reason and she just needed a completely fresh start! :)

Unfortunately, she lost her 2,000+ subscribers and her YouTube partnership, so I'm trying to spread the word, so we can help Tamara get her loyal viewers back! I'll post the video below from her new chanel that explains everything that happened to her, as well as her new account.

For any other questions, comments, etc, please e-mail me at, leave a comment here, or post on my Facebook wall! And don't forget to like 'Makeup By Serena' on Facebook!

May Favorites

Hey everyone! So it's already 5 days into June and I realized I haven't done my May Favorites yet!! (I'm sorry for never doing an April Favorites, but I just felt there weren't enough products to do a post for April.)

1) Benefit Hoola Bronzer- [$28] This is seriously my holy grail bronzer. I wear it almost everyday, and because I have clear skin (knock on wood) and don't need any heavy coverage, I can use this as my foundation. I love the color- a true brown- and the new packaging!! It now comes with a mirror, just like Bella Bamba!

2) Urban Decay Naked Palette- [$48] I used to use this everyday, but then switched to the Too Faced Natural Eye Palette (which I still love), but now that Sephora restocked the Naked Palette, I've been using this more and more. The only down side about this palette is that it no longer comes with the 2 eyeliners, but instead features an eyeshadow brush. I really hate this new version because I absolutely loved the two eyeliners it came with before (Whiskey is probably one of my all time favorite eyeliner colors)!

3) Yves Saint Laurent Volupte Sheer Candy Glossy Balm Crystal Color in Dewy Papaya- [$30] I love this color! It's so perfect for summer because it's a very sheer peach color that gives your lips just the right amount of pop, but without over doing it. I use this pretty much everyday and I absolutely adore it! It was so hard to chose my favorite YSL lip product, and if you're not into peach colors, my second favorite is probably Succulent Pomegranate (although Juicy Grapefruit looks great as well).

4) MAC Surf, Baby! Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Blue Noon- [$15.50] Choosing between Blue Noon and Gilded White was very tricky because both colors are fabulous! However, because it is summer and I tend to wear brighter colors, I had to go with Blue Noon! It's basically a teal color and what I love is the effect it gives my eyes. I have very blue eyes (almost like a pool water blue...if that makes any sense) and the darker blue of this eyeliner makes them pop even more! I like to combine Blue Noon on my lash line with Gilded White in my tear duct area to create the perfect summery look! I've included a swatch of both of them so you can see the true colors!

5) Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Moisturizing Body Lotion- [$49] Holy Chanel!! Did I just say that my absolute favorite scent of perfume now comes in a Moisturizing Body Lotion, as well as a shower gel and body oil? Yes I did, thank you Chanel! I literally died when I saw this in the store!
I bought:
-the Moisturizing Body Lotion [$49]
-the Foaming Shower Gel [$49]
-the Velvet Body Oil [$55]
-the Fresh Body Satin Spray [$55]
-the Shimmering Touch Spray [$65]
-the Fresh Body Lotion [$49]
... I am officially obsessed. Now, these products have been out for a while, but everytime I go to get them, they're sold out! So, that's why I legit bought everything they had while it was in stock. I called my sister after I bought all of these and did she call me crazy? Nope! It turns out she had just gone to MAC and bought not just a few of the Surf, Baby! products, but ALL of them! Obviously, she's crazier than me... Anyway, these all smell fabulous, but the moisturizing body lotion is my favorite because it truly moisturizes my skin and locks in the wonderful Chanel smell. I use this right after I get out of the shower and my skin stays moisturized for a good 24 hours. I highly recommend these products, and although you don't have to purchase all of them as I did, I recommend you pick up the ones you want now, since availibility of these products is not great. (If you want more options, you can always order them online, but I'm too impatient when it comes to my Chanel!)
My mom is also sending me
-the Bath Soap [$23.50]
-the Body Cream [$80]
-the Fresh After Bath Powder [$60]
Sephora does not sell these three products, so my mom is ordering them off of the Chanel website (I love her)! I'm including all of the product pictures below, so you can see them in all of their glory!

This is the end of my May Favorites! I hope you enjoyed this post, and feel free to do this on your blog or youtube account! Also, did you guys like the way I edited the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle picture? I thought I would try and do my own pictures here and there, but if  you prefer the clean-cut, from the internet pictures, I can keep those. Let me know in the comments below! Finally, I just wanted to say this post is so fun to do because it's not only my favorites of the month, but I'm posting this from Hawaii! Anyway, have a great rest of your summer, but if you're in Australia or somewhere where it's fall/autumn, then have a great fall!

Tiffany Reversible Tote!

Hunter Graham. Two words to describe the most amazing boyfriend in the world. I love him. To death! He just gave me the bag from Tiffany that I've been eyeing since it came out! It's called the Tiffany & Co. Reversible Tote and to explain it in one word: fabulous. Jennifer Aniston has been pictured many times carrying it and it completes her outfit everytime.

Now my friends ... cough cough Kennedy.... know how much I love Jenifer Anniston, so when I saw her carrying this bag, I knew I had to have it!

Anyway, to sum things up, in the midst of packing, Hunter called me downstairs and he was waiting in the kitchen with the bag in his hands <3 (not gonna lie... I sorta cried...) After getting over my initial shock, I realized I should share the picture of it really quickly with you guys before I finish packing. So, this concludes my super mini post about my new bag that I'll definitely be bringing to Hawaii!

Tiffany Reversible Tote: $595

Any questions, requests, or if you just wanna say hey: email me at , follow my blog, add me on facebook, and like Makeup By Serena on facebook!

So that's it and oh yeah, my next post will be from Hawaii!!!!

Update: OOTD + Hawaii

So, I love my followers and I'm sorry I've been MIA for like ever! The reason is because.... I'M GETTING READY FOR HAWAII :) Hunter, who if you are friends with me on facebook you know, is my boyfriend and since my birthday is about 2 months away, he surprised me with a trip to Hawaii! I can't wait! I've been packing like crazy and honestly, waited to tell you until now because I still can't believe we're going!

Hunter's family owns a beach home in Hawaii so we'll be staying there and I can't wait for my trip! I'll post lots of beachy makeup tutorials and pics from the house there!

Anyway, back to blogging Serena..., I have an OOTD for you guys! I tried to take pics of my outfit I was wearing, but it was a complete fail due to my cheapo camera quality. No worries: I'm getting a new camera for my Hawaii trip! So, I justed posted the pics of my clothes from online (NOTE: I give full credit to the original sources of these pictures. I do not in any way, shape, or form take credit for these pictures!) Okay, so here they are, and I was going for a very chillax outfit today....

Dress: Aerie- $40
Shoes: Jimmy Choo- $650

I love this dress! It's so comfortable and it's very inexpensive :) You can't go wrong with Aerie, but I could say the same thing for Jimmy Choo <3 Yes, these are very expensive shoes, but when  you walk as much as I do, a comfy shoe like this is worth it! I wear these whenever I want a casual wedge that looks cute with anything. As for makeup with this outfit, I wore very natural eye with a hint of navy eyeliner. I wore Mac's NEW blush form their Surf, Baby! collection (I think it was about $30, but my friend works for MAC so she picked it up for me... love you Leighton!) I wore a very natural lip- Stila's Honeysuckle. All together, it was kind of an effortless day. I did a little bit of NARS Laguna bronzer, but not that much.

Anyway, it's about 1:30 here and I didn't have to work today. I met up with some friends for brunch at Jack and Jill's, then headed home and decided to do a post :) I'm going out with Hunter tonight and he said it's a surprise where we're going, but it's super casual (I'll probably just wear this lol). Okay, well I love all of my followers and all my facebook friends! If you don't follow me, click the Follow button now please! And if you're not friends with me on facebook... well, what are ya thinking? Type in Serena Bosworth and Facebook (I'm wearing the white dress) and add me :)

P.S. facebook me, post here on my blog, or e-mail me at for any blog post requests you have! Thanks!

Update: Where Have I Been?

So, I've been MIA for like the past week. Truth is: school is a lot more work that it seems. When I made this blog, I wasn't stressed for time or cramming for the 5000 tests I have. Basically, I am extremely sorry for my absense on my blog!

I really can't post new stuff right now- with school, going to and from school to visit the fam, and a social life- my blog has been on the back burner. I will try to post in the next couple of days... but I can't make any promises!

- Next weekend, which is like May 5th or 6th (?), wanna know where I'm going?? LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY!! Some of you might have just been like "lou...whaaatt?" (lol, I was too at first)! One of my roomies in my apartment is from Louisville and her family invited all of us from the apartment to Oaks and Derby.
-So, I will be watching some awesome horse racing and from what I heard, hopefully seeing some celebs!! It's a huge deal- like around the world! The Today show covers the whole event, so if you're still lost, just tune in to that Friday and Saturday :)

....To get to the point...LET ME KNOW IF YOU'RE GOING TOO!! I would love to have a "meet up" for everyone!

Just let me know if you're in by doing one of the following:
-comment below
-e-mail me at
-be my friend on Facebook (just leave me a message when you send the request, so I don't think you're some stranger... my facebook profile picture is the same as the one here- me with the white dress! Just look up Serena Bosworth and there I should hopefully be!)
-like my Facebook page and write on my wall (just type in Makeupbyserena on Facebook and my page should come up :D)

So, I'm like super excited to go to the races and hope you join me and my roomies :)

Also, send me any blog post requests you have and I'll do my very, very, very best to write them!!

TAG: 11 Most reached for Items

So, Missglamorazzi on YouTube did a recent tag video of her 11 most reached for items. I wanted to do one and honestly, I had a pretty hard time limiting it to 11, but here they are! **Note: these are not in any specific order because I love them all so much :)

1) Benefit R.S.V.P. creaseless cream shadow/liner : I love this stuff! It's very comparable to MAC's Vintage Selection, but that was limited edition. This is perfect alone or as a base under any look. I use this all the time when I'm running out the door going to class- it's a life saver!

2) MAC Malt Lipstick (Satin finish) : I love this color because it's like my perfect nude with a slight bit of color! I wear this alone or with a shiny gloss on top and I'm good to go! I definitely recommend this one!

3) NARS Rose Gritane Lipgloss : I bought this during the holidays for my mom, as she is a NARS-aholic, and she loved it! I saw how great it looked and picked one up for myself. Honestly, the reason why I love it is because it is so buildable! You can have a very sheer red or a BAM-yeah-I-have-red-lips red! I love it!

4) Benefit High Beam : I love this!!! I have naturally pink cheeks and because of this, I wear small amounts of blush, but this really helps! It brightens wherever you use it (I use it on my cheekbone) and provides a gorgeous glow. For me, it really compliments my already pink cheeks. I don't go a day without this!

5) Too Faced Natural Eye Palette : This is my favorite eye palette! I've done a whole blog post about it because it's so amazing! The colors are absolutely gorgeous and you can easily go from day to night :)

6) Sheercover Extra Length Mascara in Black/Brown : I have been using this stuff for years! It lengthens every single lash and never clumps! It's got an awesome formula that doesn't ever seem to dry out :) I recommend a lot of Sheercover products... do you guys want a review on the like bazillions of Sheercover products I have? Comment below!

7) Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow in Bone : I love this when I want either a simple base or a highlight color for my brow bone. Either way, it looks great and as you can see... I've hit pan on it and NEED to buy a new one!

8) Sheercover Base Perfector : Another Sheercover product :) This is their version of a face primer and I gotta's amazing! It makes your skin feel silky smooth and makes your foundation glide on so much better. It also helps a bit with controlling oils and also with making makeup last. It's a white color, so it's very comparable to Smashbox's Photofinish Light primer! I love this and if you guys want, I can do a review on this and many other Sheercover products, just let me know in the comments below!

9) TIE! So I wanted to include a perfume, but couldn't decide between my Chanel N 19  and my Ralph Lauren Romance. The Chanel one is so classic, but so is the RL perfume! I love both brands, but usually prefer my RL perfumes over my Chanel perfumes. They both have a feminine undertone, so they are very wearable, without being floraly like omg-she-just-walked-through-a-flowerbed! Definitely recommend you try these scents! Let me know which one you guys like better or just tell me your favorite perfume in the comments below :)

10)  Aussie Mega Hairspray : I love this stuff because not only does it hold all day and night, but it smells fabulous! I've never had a fruity hairspray before this one! It makes you smell like fruity and fun and I love it :) It also holds so well- hence the "Mega" on the label. I used this for all my highschool dances and my curls lasted forever (which was amazing because my hair NEVER holds curls). Truly, and amazing product!

11) L'Oreal Sublime Glow Bronze Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion : This is my absolute favorite self-tanning lotion- it's inexpensive and it works! I look brown after using it- NOT orange :) I've written an entire review on it, so if you haven't read that, go check it out! I love this stuff so much and definitely recommend you guys try it!

So these were my most reached for items, at least for the time being! I hope you guys enjoyed this post and leave any questions, comments, or blog post requests in the comments below! Or e-mail me at !
